The Military Technical Academy “Ferdinand I”, subordinated to the Ministry of National Defence, is a public military higher education institution with legal personality, an integral part of the national education system within the state education network. It provides education and professional development for logistics officers, technical-engineering service officers, specialist officers, and selected civilian personnel to meet the needs of defense, public order, and national security structures, as well as beneficiaries from Romania and abroad, in accordance with the law.
The Military Technical Academy “Ferdinand I” conducts higher education activities organized through undergraduate (Bachelor’s), Master’s, and Doctoral study programs in accredited fields and specializations, as well as other forms of training, professional development, and specialization.
The Military Technical Academy “Ferdinand I” carries out scientific research and develops scientific studies within its field of competence, in accordance with the requests of structures within the national defense, public order, and national security system (the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Special Telecommunications Service, the Romanian Intelligence Service, the Foreign Intelligence Service, and the Protection and Guard Service), as well as other beneficiaries, based on contracts concluded for this purpose.
Doctoral university studies, organized by the Doctoral School in the fundamental field of Engineering Sciences, represent the third cycle of university studies within the Military Technical Academy “Ferdinand I” and aim to advance knowledge through original scientific research and design. They have a duration of four academic years and include two components, conducted under the supervision of a doctoral advisor: an advanced academic training program and a scientific research program.
