Thomas Klapötke, professor doctor habil, from the Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich, was awarded, on Wednesday, 15 November 2023, the title of Doctor Honoris Causa by the Military Technical Academy „Ferdinand I”. The awarding ceremony took place in the Aula Magna, in the presence of guests, teachers and students of the academy.

Professor Thomas Klapötke is an outstanding scientist in the field of energetic materials, the author of 957 scientific papers, he obtained 14 patents and published 18 books in the field. Over time, he had a significant collaboration with the Military Technical Academy „Ferdinand I”, being an example of what a university professor should be, and a strong supporter for the development of educational and research activities in the academy.
