Since the establishment of the Military Technical Academy by Decree no.371 from September 14th 1949 meant to provide “engineer officers with appropriate technical training for the various arms of service”, the faculties of Aircraft and Military Vehicles have always been the main pillars in the formation and development of a professional army engineering corps, which specializes in solving technical problems pertaining to the Army.
The structural changes undergone by the Military Technical Academy over time, generated by objective factors as well as political and military contexts have led to significant changes within faculties. Thus, new and relevant study programs have been developed, aiming to bring engineering training in tune with technological progress not only with respect to scientific thinking, but also to practical training. Nevertheless, the strategic objective of training and providing military engineers with nationally and internationally-acknowledged technical skills and abilities, has remained the same.
