The Military Technical Academy “Ferdinand I”, in subordination to the Ministry of National Defense, is a public military higher education institution, with legal status, an integral part of the national system of education of the state education network, which ensures the preparation and professional development of logistics officers, the technical-engineering service, specialist officers and the selected civilian personnel for the specific needs of the defense, public order and national security structures or for the other beneficiaries from the country or from abroad, according to the law.
The Military Technical Academy “Ferdinand I” carries out higher education activities, organized through bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral studies programs, in the accredited fields and specialties, as well as others types of preparation, professional development and specialization.
SERVING ONE’S COUNTRY
Documents from 1930-1932 attest to concerns about the establishment of a technical structure of the army, which was urgently needed to ensure its combat capability. In 1932, the Military Technical Corps was established, as a body with specific attributions in the Romanian army. The military technical corps created a technical education institution in which engineers were specialized in solving army-specific problems and confirmed in various military specialties.

The higher technical education in the Military Technical Academy "Ferdinand I" is within the standards of quality and efficiency practiced at national and international level, which ensures that the academy has the possibility of extensive cooperation with higher education institutions in the country and from abroad for the organization and joint realization of bachelor’s, master's and doctoral study programs, as well as international scientific research projects.
STUDENTS ASSOCIATION
The aim of the Association is to contribute to raising the professional, cultural, sporting and moral level of the students of the Military Technical Academy "Ferdinand I", to increase the prestige of Romanian higher military education and to develop the academic community through the active involvement of young people. This helps to create a climate as conducive as possible for the training of future military engineers.
The Military Technical Academy “Ferdinand I” is an accredited higher education public military institution, an integral part of the national system of education. The main goal is represented by the fulfillment of higher education and scientific research activities in the fields of competence, with a view to fulfilling the demands of beneficiaries from the defense, public order and national security system, as well as those of the active institutional personnel.
